Congratulations to our new board members!

We are pleased to welcome our newly elected board members. These members will begin their term on the board at the conclusion of our 2016 Global Conference in June, and will serve a three-year term.

Laura Arthur
Senior Associate Director of Global Engagement, Johns Hopkins Carey Business School

LArthurLaura Arthur is the Senior Associate Director of Global Engagement at the Johns Hopkins Carey Business School. She builds collaboration with staff, faculty, alumni, and employers and leads New Student Orientation, Professional Development courses, and an alumni mentoring program. During her four years as a career coach at Johns Hopkins, Laura advised students in full-time, part-time, and dual-degree MBA and MS programs. She previously worked in student services at Loyola University Maryland, Towson University, and The Ohio State University. Laura received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Xavier University and a Master of Arts in Higher Education/Student Affairs from The Ohio State University. She is a certified University Career Coach and administrator of CareerLeader, Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, StrengthsFinder, and Strong Interest Inventory. Laura has chaired MBA Career Services and Employer Alliance conference committees since 2012 and served on the Executive Board of the Maryland College Personnel Association.

Mark Brostoff
Assistant Dean and Director, USC Marshall MBA Career Services

MBrostoffMark Brostoff is the assistant dean and director, MBA Career Services at the USC Marshall School of Business. As part of the graduate programs leadership team, he leads all aspects of the career services process for the Marshall MBA Programs. He joined Marshall after serving seven successful years as Associate Dean and Director, Weston Career Center, Olin Business School at Washington University in St. Louis. Prior to Olin, Mark taught marketing and entrepreneurship and served as the associate director of undergraduate career services at the Kelley School of Business, Indiana University-Bloomington.

Mark received his Master of Health Administration from Washington University in St. Louis and his BA from Alfred University, Alfred, NY. He was inducted into the Alfred University Omicron Delta Kappa Circle Student Leader Hall of Fame and received the Outstanding Alumnus of the Year award from the Alfred University Alumni Association (2000).

Karen Fox
Head of University and Recruiting Partnerships, Vanguard

KFoxKaren Fox is a Senior Human Resources and Recruiting professional with more than 20 years of experience. She has extensive HR knowledge including general talent management and university relations. Her background includes supporting both the private and non-profit sectors in industries such as financial services, healthcare, and education.  Karen has a BS in Psychology and MS in HR Management from Holy Family University.  She currently holds a leadership role at Vanguard where she heads up University Relations and Recruiting Partnerships for the Talent Acquisition Group.  She also serves as Adjunct Faculty for both Temple University, Fox School of Business and Holy Family University where she instructs students in marketing and human resources respectively.  Karen is very active in the community. She serves on the Board of Directors for Campus Philly as well as several other career advisory boards with universities in the Philadelphia region. In her spare time, Karen enjoys running and contributing to various community outreach efforts.

Jean Gekler
Senior Associate Director, MBA Career Management, Foster School of Business, University of Washington, Seattle

Jean Gekler--Foster PhotoJean Gekler develops and delivers programming, curriculum and workshops for the Full-Time and Evening MBA programs and is a 2nd year coach for Full-Time MBA students.  Coaching students to be strategic and compelling in all elements of their job search and career development is her professional passion. Previously at the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota, she was recruited to design, launch and manage MBA Career Services for the Part-Time and Executive MBA Programs.

In her roles with MBA Career Services offices, she has volunteered with MBA Career Services and Employer Alliance, serving in leadership roles on the Board and committees and has presented at both the Global and European Conferences.

Jean’s private sector experience included management of recruiting for Campbell Mithun, Minneapolis’ largest full-service marketing and advertising agency with Fortune 500 retained clients. She directed their Marketing and Account Management Development Program and Internship programs.  While living in Toronto, she was a Human Resources and Training consultant.  She has an MBA in marketing and management and a BA in English. Her interests include French language study, literature, theater, travel, fitness, gardening and University of Washington Huskies football.

Cheri Hurtubise
Manager of Graduate Campus Recruiting, Liberty Mutual


A born-and-bred New Englander, Cheri Hurtubise hails from Rhode Island and happily resides in Boston (Go Sox!) for her role as Manager of Graduate Campus Recruiting at Liberty Mutual Insurance. She has worked for Liberty Mutual for the past 2.5 years supporting graduate recruiting initiatives globally, including the Corporate Development Program, Field Management Development Program, Corporate Strategy & Research function and PhD Data Science roles. She successfully launched Liberty’s first MBA Women’s Leadership Invitational event this past year and is passionate about increasing the number of women in corporate leadership positions.  Previously, she worked for several years at Philips North America as a Talent Advisor for Campus Recruiting and as an Assistant Director of Undergraduate Admission at Simmons College.  A fan of process and efficiency, Cheri received her Six Sigma Green Belt Certification in 2013 and eagerly explores every opportunity to put it to use. Cheri holds a Bachelor of Arts in Women’s Studies and Sociology from Wheaton College and a Master’s of Science in Communications Management from Simmons College.

Beth Ursin
Assistant Dean and Director of Career Management, Willlamette University

BUrsinBeth Ursin is the Assistant Dean and Director of Career Management for Willamette’s MBA program. She has been involved with MBA CSEA since 2004 in a variety of volunteer roles from Membership Co-Chair to Conference Co-Chair. At Willamette, Beth oversees the career management team, student professional associations, the credit bearing internship program and co-leads international study trips. Outside of higher education, Beth has experience with Internet start-ups, consulting, and sales management. She holds an MBA from Willamette University, BA in Psychology from Whitman College and is SHRM-SCP and GPHR certified.

Catherine Chassanite
Senior Careers Consultant, Audencia Nantes School of Management

Chassanite Catherine_DSC3138Catherine Chassanite is Senior Careers Consultant with Audencia Business School in Nantes, France. Prior to joining Audencia in 2008, Catherine gained experience recruiting in a variety of fields. She has lived in six different countries and worked for a UN-affiliated PPP and Nike, amongst others. A MBTI Certified practitioner, her latest fields of interest include Dweck’s Growth Mindset, and Appreciative Inquiry. She lives in the countryside near Nantes with her family.
